A Throwback to Monaco

Back in 2008, I was fortunate enough to attend the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix. Monaco is ranked up there as one of the most prestigious races a driver and team can win. Having been a Formula One fan for the better part of a decade, I was thrilled to get to see this spectacle in person. If you’ve never seen  a lap of Monaco, it is truly something to behold. Have a look HERE.

This coming weekend F1 returns to the streets of the gorgeous principality, and to celebrate, I thought I would share some of my favorite photos. I took these approximately one week after I was given my first DSLR. So this was before I even knew I wanted to take photos for a living, much less knew what I was doing with the camera. All the photos were taken with a Nikon D80 with a 55-200mm f5.6 lens. If only I  knew what I was doing with a camera when I shot this race.

One Response to A Throwback to Monaco

  1. Ned Flanders says:

Oh, funnily enough I stumbled across Portofino this summer too! I decided I would be able to walk west along the coast back to Genoa where I was staying, not realising quite how far it was, or that there was no road. So I was running up a footpath up into the hills, in the pitch black and not knowing where on earth I was. I was so terrified I didn’t get a chance to appreciate how beautiful a town it is!

And, again, these are great photo’s. I’m following your advice and looking into buying myself a D80 too!
