The Aftermath
The sun shone bright today in Kentucky. But much of the area has brand new waterfront property. These are some photos from a lake in the area that has been deluged with the runoff from local streams and rivers.
Matt Nathanson is Funny
Centre College’s spring carnival is always a fun and relaxing time for students. The student government brings in a singer each year and this years main attraction was Matt Nathanson who is best known for “Come on Get Higher.” The guy is pretty dang funny. He spent most of the night heckling the crowd and [...]
Kidtucky Derby
Kids run circles outside at local elementary to celebrate the 136th Run for the Roses (aka Kentucky Derby).
Gardening 101
Kids at a local elementary school got first hand gardening experience planting flowers on Friday morning.
Kentucky is Underwater
It has rained for 2 days straight across much of the midwest and it wouldn’t at all surprise me to see an Ark being built in the area.
Greek Olympics
Centre College’s Greek community celebrates with a week of competitions. Most of them are not terribly good for taking photos, but the Greek Olympics is a different story.
Big Air Skateboarding
14 year old James Todd rips up the pavement at Millennium Park on Wednesday afternoon. Just some random shots from my brief visit to the skateboard park. The shot below was done with a remote, but as it turns out, I probably didnt need the remote and could have just hand held it. Oh well. Live and learn.
Spring at Centre
Spring has FINALLY arrived in central Kentucky. Winters are long and cold around here so the wonderful spring weather has really turned the already stunning Centre campus into a little piece of eden.
Governor Steve Beshear
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear came to a local county today to talk about a multi-million dollar investment that will bring new full time employment to the area in the form of a “mine haven” manufacturing facility. A mine haven is a giant metal box that sits in a coal mine and serves as a place for miners to escape should something catastrophic happen undergound. I dont know what Gov. Beshear stands for, I dont know what kind of person he is, but I do like this photo of him.
I’m a Bee
A bee sucks on the nectar off the flowers of a tree outside of the Centre College gymnasium.
Motion and Color
Fourth and Fifth Grade girls perform to “Latika’s Theme” during a benefit recital at Danville High School on March 29.
Winter Sunrise
Passed this scene unfolding on my way into South Carolina this past weekend. Sometimes I think God is just showing off. This is exactly as it came out of the camera, and exactly as it looked to the naked eye. Incredible. PS. Enough with these small 600 pixel wide photos. I’m going big from now on…but this also means I will post less photos per post. Just the best 2-4 photos per shoot. Enjoy.
